How this website and its external services handle visitor information.

Hosting

GitHub Pages hosts this website. Serving pages involves processing technical request information such as your IP address. GitHub explains its logging, retention, international transfers, and privacy rights in its privacy statement.

Audience statistics

This website uses GoatCounter to understand which pages receive visits and where visitors arrive from. Google Analytics is not used. GoatCounter does not place analytics cookies or store tracking information in your browser’s local storage.

GoatCounter documents aggregate reports of page views and referring sites, with optional statistics about location, browser, language, and device. To distinguish repeat visits, it temporarily processes the site name, IP address, and browser user-agent in memory for up to eight hours. These raw identifiers are not stored in its analytics database. Individual-pageview recording is an optional setting, disabled by default.

The hosted service stores data in Finland and Germany. See GoatCounter’s privacy policy for its processing and deletion practices.

Email and subscriptions

If you email me, I receive your address and the information you choose to send so I can respond.

The subscription link opens your email application to contact rssby.email. Submitting that email is your choice; this website does not itself collect a subscriber email list. The service says it stores your address until you unsubscribe. Its privacy and unsubscribe information explains how to stop receiving updates. You can also follow the RSS feed using your own feed reader.

Links to papers, videos, and social profiles take you to external services only when you choose to follow them. Their own privacy policies apply. Fonts and the site’s design images are hosted with this website.

For questions about information you have sent me or to request its correction or deletion, use the contact address above. Rights and available remedies depend on the applicable law; you may also contact your local data-protection authority.
